Wuhan, the largest city in Central China and a famous Chinese “River City”, is home to Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), a combination of the former Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan Transportation University and Wuhan Automotive Polytechnic University, which merged on 27 May 2000. WUT, one of the main priority constructions under the “State 211 Project” for Chinese higher education institutions, is one of the leading Chinese universities under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education.
Currently, WUT has about 5,423 staff members, including 771 professors, 1364 associate professors, 2 academicians of China Academy of Engineering,1 fellow of the Royal Academy of Belgium, 1 fellow of Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.
