The University of Diyala is an Iraqi university located in Baquba, Diyala Province, Iraq. It was established in 1999. Diyala province had a value historical very important, as the successive empires of the Great Sumerians, Akadian , Assyrians and Babylonians and Persians came after them and Alakhminyin , Alslloukion , Alfrthein , then Al – Sasaon, then opened by the Greek and Arab Muslims in 16 e / 637 m . Then invaded by the Mongols in the late thirteenth century AD. In the early sixteenth century followed Diyala like the Iraqi provinces to the rule of the Turkish Ottoman sultans until the Britain forces entered Iraq in 1915. The location of Diyala also had its strategic importance as the region is locate on Khorasan road which known with (Silk Road) and therefore it is considered as a bridge join Iraq with East , as well as it historical significance of the urban centers are important in Iraq, where The sons of Iraq from different historical periods, ranging from the Stone Age
