UTAR offers a comprehensive range of postgraduate programmes up to PhD in fields of Business and Management, Information Technology, Science and Engineering, Creative Arts, Social Science, Chinese Studies, Medicine and Health Sciences. UTAR’s postgraduate programmes are designed to enrich students with state-of-the-art technical knowledge and skills to enhance their professional competency, allowing them to be competent and resourceful in the job market. All UTAR programmes are delivered in an interactive environment which is highly conducive for learning. The postgraduate students’ practical skills are further enhanced through their active involvement in real-life consultancy work provided by UTAR to its extensive network of collaborative partners.  UTAR currently has 27 research centres with wide-ranging research areas in which the students can choose to specialise in. Throughout the years, UTAR has made impressive headways in its research, development and commercialisation in diverse areas of contemporary and emerging importance. The University also has a strong research culture in agricultural science, biotechnology, building construction, Chinese studies, cloud computing, information security, multimedia education, photonics, psychology, renewable energy, stem cell research, traditional Chinese medicine, wastewater treatment and wireless sensor network. A number of research assistantships are also available and open for application.
