The Universidad Nacional de Colombia is a public and national higher education institution, founded in 1867. Its strictness, resources, productivity, competitiveness, and highly qualified faculty, consolidate it as one of the most important universities in Colombia and Latin America. It has 8 campuses throughout the country: Bogotá, Medellín, Manizales, Palmira, Amazonas, Caribe, Tumaco and Orinoquía; as well as various institutes, museums, centers, biological stations, nature reserves, and farms.
