A private university based in Lima – the capital and largest city in Peru – Universidad de San Martín de Porres was first established in 1962. Originally founded by the Dominican Order of the Catholic Church, today the university offers teaching across close to a dozen faculties, including medicine, engineering and architecture.

Students based here will either study at the university’s main campus in Lima or in Chiclayo, 770km from the capital city. Those based in Lima will be able to enjoy all of the delights of living and studying in one of the largest cities in Latin America. Lima will also host the 2019 Pan American Games, a major international multi-sport event. Sports lovers will also be interested to learn the university has a professional football team.

Chiclayo may be a less well-known study destination but it is in fact Peru’s fourth-largest city, with a population of nearly 750,000. The city has a rich cultural history and is the home of ancient royal tombs, museums and more
