Tunghai University was established in 1955 and is located on the level plateau of Taichung’s Tatu Mountain. It is a liberal institution full of scholarly elites and abundant resources and is well-known for its beautiful campus. Tunghai has 8 colleges, 34 departments, 35 Master’s programs and 14 Ph.D. programs. The 8 colleges are College of Arts, College of Science, College of Engineering, College of Management, College of Social Sciences, College of Agriculture, College of Fine Arts and Creative Design, and College of Law. Tunghai has a student body of approximately 17,000 students and close to 500 teachers (88% assistant professors and above). The total area of Tunghai campus reaches 133 hectares. Not only has Tunghai University graduates topped recruiter rankings, the University has also received recognition from Ministry Of Education. Tunghai University has received 839 million NTD of subsidies from MOE’s Teaching Excellence Project, making it one of the 8 universities in Taiwan that have received such honor for 12 consecutive years.
