About

This Japanese university has several branches across the country, meaning students could be based in Hakusan, Asaka, Kawagoe or Itakura. Of these, the Hakusan campus is particularly notable as it’s surrounded by shrines including the popular Hakusan Shrine, and is just 15 minutes from some of Tokyo’s most lively areas, including the book and antique shops of Jimbocho and the electronics shops of Akihabara. Toyo University can trace its roots back to 1887 but was founded in its current form in 1906. The university is comprised of the following faculties:

  • Literature
  • Economics
  • Law
  • Sociology
  • Engineering
  • Business Administration

The combined student body attending the university is close to 30,000 people. Financial aid is available to some international students. More information can be found on the university website.
