Established in 1940, Sejong has been a highly reputable university in Korea. The history of Sejong University dates back to 1940, when a trust established the Kyung Sung Humanities Institute. In 1978, this institution was named Sejong University in honor of Sejong the Great, the fourth king of the Chosun Dynasty and overseer of the Korean alphabet ‘Hangeul’.

Sejong University consists of 11 colleges, with 12,000 undergraduate students, 2,400 graduate students and 1,700 international students. In the belief that ‘The world’s finest faculty produces the world’s finest graduates’, Sejong University unveiled a new vision to reach the top 50 universities in Asia by 2020. The preparation is well underway to make this coming year a milestone in the university’s history.
