Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) is the leading Russian university in Eastern Siberia close to the famous Baikal Lake. INRTU was founded in 1930 on the basis of existing Polytechnic School as a branch of higher technical educational institution specializing in gold and platinum mining.  For a period of almost 90 years, INRTU has travelled a long road and has become one of the leading universities in Siberia and the Russian Far East. Over 17500 students study at INRTU, including 1500 full-degree and 150 non-degree international students who are eager to acquire quality education delivered by a leading university in Eastern part of Russia. INRTU is the most eastern University that has received in 2010 the prestigious status “National Research University” in Russia.
