Hotel Institute Montreux

Since its establishment in 1985, the hallmark of Hotel Institute Montreux (HIM) is its modern approach to management, marrying a contemporary American management business outlook, with a sophisticated Swiss approach. 

Students learn the art of hospitality management, combined with a specialization in Finance, Human Resources or Luxury Marketing and Business Management. It is the combination of the business focus of the programs, practical skills and industry recognized work experience, that allow HIM students to tailor their education and open doors to a wide variety of exciting career options around the world.

Campus Life

Hotel Institute Montreux is located in the heart of Montreux, on the shores of Lake Geneva with the Alps providing a spectacular backdrop. The campus is a 3-minute walk from Lake Geneva and the train station, providing easy access to a variety of activities. An hour from Geneva airport allows for easy travel to European hotspots at the weekends.

The school is comprised of several buildings within walking distance. All buildings have been renovated and equipped to provide state-of-the-art accommodation and modern learning facilities. 

Hotel Europe hosts the main classrooms and most of the faculty offices. Final year Bachelor and Master students will be based in the Miramonte building, with a more business-orientated environment.

The Bachelor’s degree program is awarded in partnership with Northwood University (USA), which is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, one of the regional accrediting agencies for higher education in the United States, recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. 

The specializations in Finance, Human Resources and Luxury Marketing and Business Management offered at Bachelor and Master Degree levels are respectively endorsed by Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Tag Heuer, John Paul and Montreux Jazz Festival. These leading companies offer unique insights into the business world and ensure the relevance of the school’s specialized programs.
