Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) was founded in 1994 with the goal of educating elites. From the university’s establishment, the motto “diligence, character and action” is aimed to foster the students’ core abilities as well as to cultivate students’ pride, respectability, politeness, harmony and devotion. CYUT also aims to be up to date with industry trends in their expertise, technological application, communication, as well as learning autonomy, so to equip the students to become professionals needed by industry. CYUT comprises of 5 colleges and 22 departments. The current number of students enrolled is around 17,000, including 1400 graduate students. CYUT offers 22 master’s programs and 5 doctoral programs. CYUT’s excellent teaching and research performances have been readily receiving recognition nationwide.

(2)Academic Achievements CYUT has been ranked among the world’s Top 1000+ and the Asia’s Top 350 Best Universities by Times Higher Education (THE). CYUT is the highest ranked private university of technology in Taiwan in 2007-2017, and ranks the world’s top 1000 universities according to Webometrics Rankings of World Universities. Green Biotechnology applied to Special Chemical Production and Testing at Department of Applied Chemistry was awarded 2015 Excellent Academic Award from Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor in Taiwan. Six departments are accredited by the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET), i.e. Construction Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Environmental Engineering and management, Computer Science and Information  Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, and Landscape and Urban Design. CYUT was ranked the Top 100 in 2014-2015 Green Metric World University Ranking, and the No. 1 in private university of technology in Taiwan.CYUT was ranked No. 1 globally in the rating of combined influence in journal of the combined areas of computer science and decision making (according to the statistics of journal database of Elsevier 2014). 

(3)Innovation and Incubation (World Number Two)Office of Industry-Academia Collaboration (IAC) is posited as a unit for cooperation with the industry at CYUT. Its organization can be divided into Division of IAC Planning and Administration, Division of IP Management and Licensing, The Innovation and Incubation Center, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Development Center. The office has also set an advisory committee assisting with promoting professional work of academia collaboration.CYUT Incubator was certified by EC-BIC in 2012 as the first cross-strait incubator and has been the only soft-landing membership so far. Besides European membership, CYUT Incubator also holds membership of NBIA, AABI, and CBIA. Moreover, CYUT Incubator is in charge of TBIA secretary affairs, both offering services to other incubators and upgrading incubator ecosystem. CYUT Incubator was awarded number one in Asian-Pacific and number two globally by UBI World Ranking in 2015.
